Static Route Outranks OSPF
Traffic prefers a backup path even though OSPF learned the direct one.
Scenario
Ashbourne Health runs a direct link between its data centre and its clinic network, with a slower path through a regional site as backup. Traffic to the clinic is taking the regional path even though the direct link is healthy and OSPF has learned the route. Restore the direct path as the preferred one while keeping the backup usable if the direct link fails.
