Terms & Acceptable Use

Last updated: July 28, 2026

Acceptance of these terms

Subnetica gives you access to real, isolated lab environments and device consoles so you can practice networking hands-on. This policy explains what you can and can't do with that access. By using Subnetica, you agree to it.

Eligibility and accounts

Accounts are for people who meet the minimum age requirement shown during registration. Keep your credentials secure and provide accurate account information. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.

Educational service

Subnetica provides networking lessons, quizzes, review features, learning paths, and browser-based virtual labs. Labs run on FRRouting and Linux behind a Cisco-style compatibility layer; they are not Cisco IOS or a complete Cisco device emulator.

Free and paid plans

The Free plan includes the access described on the pricing page. Paid plans provide broader lab access and are available at the prices shown at checkout. Features and availability may change as the service develops.

Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe and renew automatically unless canceled. You can cancel from Settings through the Stripe customer portal; a period-end cancellation remains active until the current paid period ends. * 30-day money-back guarantee. Email contact@subneti.ca within 30 days of the charge for a full refund.

Using labs as intended

Each lab instance is your own isolated environment, randomized and provisioned for you when you launch it. Use it to configure devices, run commands, and work through the lab's objectives - that's what it's there for.

User responsibility for configurations and activity

Use each lab only for its stated educational objectives. You are responsible for the commands, configurations, and other activity performed in your assigned environment.

Intellectual property

Subnetica’s site, software, curriculum, and service content are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights.

Service availability and changes

Virtual lab availability can depend on provisioning, maintenance, network, and other operational conditions. Subnetica may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service as it develops.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, abuse, security concerns, non-payment, or other operational reasons. The detailed enforcement rules below apply to lab and infrastructure misuse.

Disclaimers

Subnetica is an independent learning supplement. It does not provide Cisco IOS, Cisco device images, official certification training, or a guarantee of exam readiness. Virtual practice cannot reproduce every physical, wireless, or vendor-specific behavior.

Limitation of liability

Owner-approved limitation-of-liability language has not been configured. This section requires legal review before these terms can be considered complete.

Governing law

The governing company identity and jurisdiction have not been configured in the repository. Owner input is required before a governing-law provision is published.

Prohibited conduct

You may not use Subnetica, or any lab environment, to:

  • Scan, probe, or attack any system outside your own lab instance - including other users' lab instances, our infrastructure, or any third party
  • Attempt to break out of a lab's isolation, access another user's lab instance or data, or bypass the resource/network boundaries a lab is provisioned with
  • Use lab compute for anything unrelated to the lab itself - cryptocurrency mining, relaying traffic, hosting services, or similar
  • Automate account creation, scrape the site, or otherwise interact with Subnetica outside of normal, human use of the product
  • Tamper with or attempt to reverse-engineer grading logic to falsify a lab result
  • Share your account credentials, or let someone else use your account or subscription
  • Interfere with the availability of the service for other users, including via excessive automated requests
  • Abuse promo codes or billing flows - for example, creating multiple accounts to claim a promotion more than once
  • Upload, transmit, or store malware, or use Subnetica for any unlawful purpose

Enforcement

Violating this policy may result in a warning, suspension, or termination of your account, at our discretion and depending on severity. We may also revoke or grade a lab result we determine was obtained in violation of this policy. For anything involving unauthorized access to systems outside Subnetica, we'll cooperate with the affected party and, where required, law enforcement.

Reporting abuse

If you believe someone is misusing Subnetica, or you've noticed unexpected traffic from a lab environment reaching you, contact us at contact@subneti.ca.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
