OSPF Area Mismatch on a New Link

A new router link is up, but the adjacent networks are not joining the OSPF domain.

Scenario

Valley Hospice added a link between two campus routers during a site expansion. The interfaces are up and the routers can reach one another directly, but the new campus networks are not appearing in the routing domain. Investigate why the adjacency is not becoming usable and restore route exchange across the link.
